Refund Policy

Effective Date: October 2026

Last updated: 15 October 2026

Bookaroo® provides the booking, ticket-delivery and payment-integration platform used by independent event organisers. The organiser identified at checkout and in your Order confirmation is the seller, supplier and merchant of record for the Tickets, Products and Add-ons in your Order.

Refund Responsibility

The organiser sets and applies its cancellation, exchange and refund policy for its Events, Tickets, Products and Add-ons, subject to applicable South African law.

Bookaroo does not set the organiser's policy, decide whether you qualify for a refund, or adjudicate a dispute between you and the organiser. Nothing in an organiser's policy or this Refund Policy removes any statutory right you may have.

Requesting a Cancellation, Change or Refund

Contact the organiser directly using the details on the Event listing or Order confirmation. Explain which Ticket, Product or Add-on is affected and the change or refund you are requesting. The organiser is responsible for responding and for applying its policy and applicable law.

If you contact Bookaroo, we may refer your request to the organiser and provide the relevant transaction record, but we do not make the organiser's decision for it.

Event Changes or Cancellations

If an event is:

  • Cancelled
  • Postponed
  • Rescheduled
  • Relocated

The organiser is responsible for communicating with affected Customers and arranging any applicable refund, exchange or alternative. This responsibility also applies if the organiser cannot honour a Ticket or fulfil a related Product or Add-on.

Bookaroo's Role

The organiser is responsible for deciding and arranging any refund that is due. Depending on the payment method used, the organiser may pay the refund directly or instruct Bookaroo to process it through the Platform. Bookaroo does not independently approve refunds and does not fund them.

Products, Add-ons and Order Changes

Products and Add-ons are prepared, supplied and fulfilled by the organiser. Review the fulfilment instructions and any preparation or change cutoff shown before placing your Order. A request made after preparation has started may not be operationally possible, but a cutoff does not remove any right you may have under applicable law.

If an approved change reduces the value of your Order, the organiser remains responsible for paying any resulting refund. A displayed refund-due amount or an Order amendment is not confirmation that money has already been returned.

Unavailable Stock or Capacity

If the organiser cannot supply a Ticket, Product or Add-on because capacity or stock is unavailable, contact the organiser using the details in your Order confirmation. The organiser is responsible for resolving the failure with you in accordance with applicable law.

Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

If you dispute a payment with your bank or Payment Provider, you should also notify the organiser. The organiser is responsible for responding to chargebacks and payment disputes concerning its Event, Tickets, Products, Add-ons, charges and fulfilment. Bookaroo may provide transaction records or reasonable administrative assistance.

Review Before You Order

Before placing an Order, review the Event information, fulfilment instructions and any organiser-specific cancellation, exchange or refund terms displayed for the Event. If no specific term answers your question, contact the organiser before paying.
